Kris Merc’s work fuses fun surprises, raw realism and visual sleights of hand in a huge range of styles involving motion design, VFX, character design, and filmmaking.

Kris has received accolades for his visually striking music videos for acts such as De La Soul, The Peach Kings, Spirit Animal, The Griswolds, James and Joey BadA$$, and for brands including HTC, Bosch, Ziploc, Reebok, Vonage, Lowes, Nintendo, Coca Cola, IBM, Mountain Dew, VH1, MTV, NBA, Glad and dozens more. His work has been featured on Nowness, Rolling Stone, Complex, MTV, Hypebeast, Stereogum, Motionographer, Adweek, Creativity Online, Ad Age, Yes Yes Y’all, Stash, StyleFrames, Computer Arts Magazine, XXL Magazine, The Strange Attractor, Gawker, Jones and B, Cartoon Brew, Vimeo Staff Picks and more.

His music video for The Peach Kings’ “Mojo Thunder” was part of the Official Selection at Annecy for Commissioned films and won best music video for International Animated Film Society. His more recent music video for James’ “To My Surprise” was also shortlisted in the same category at Annecy 2016 and won bronze at AEAF. Kris is a Bass Award winner and received an honoree Webby for his De la Soul “Get Away” music video. He is equally comfortable with cel animation, stop-motion, bricolage, and designing by hand or digitally. Kris always has something to offer and his innovative work always raises the bar for visual achievement.
