Not To Scale created a charming online campaign for the launch of ‘The all new Volvo V40’ .

Arnold Amsterdam’s creative director Sean Thomson commissioned four of Not To Scale’s talented Directors to each create a 30 second film for the online campaign.

The amusing films, convey the same simple message, ‘stand out from the crowd, and be an individual’.  In Steve Scott’s film Birds On a Wire a lonely black bird dances & sings along to jazz as opposed to simply squawking like his mates, in Ubik’s Cookie Cutter, a Gingerbread man gets up from the factory conveyor belt and makes a quick exit for a new life, rather than await his inevitable fate with his 30,000 odd chums. The aptly named Man Vs Magnet, worked up a charming little film named Magnet wherein a metal ball bearing fed up with the laws of physics, dodges a magnets pull and makes his escape.  Finally the ever-talented Directors Punga were tasked with breathing some acrobatic life into a sleepy sloth that leaves his dozy pals with a sudden burst of energy that would challenge anybody’s view of being inactive and lazy.

The four films are subtly crafted in the blues and orange hues that are in keeping with the warm and cool theme used across all of Volvo’s advertising and the range of 2D and 3D techniques used to animate the beautiful designs shows the versatility of Not To Scale’s directors.
