New Signing

Not To Scale are thrilled to announce that director Peter Baynton has joined our roster for worldwide representation. Peter is an acclaimed director of animated films. His first short film, “Over the Hill”, about three elderly friends escaping their nursing home, won the McLaren Award at the 2007 Edinburgh Film Festival. Since then, he has continued to garner acclaim for his work, proceeding on a steady upward trajectory in the scope and impact of his projects.

This process culminated in directing the Academy Award-winning film “The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, and the Horse” with Charlie Mackesy, which scooped the gong for Best Short Animation in 2023. The short film swept awards season that year, also picking up the BAFTA for Best British Short Animation, and four Annie Awards, including Best Special Production and Best Director. The BBC, who acted as the film’s co-distributors, commissioned Peter to direct their BBC1 Christmas Idents in 2022, a set of short clips featuring the characters and settings of the short.

"I’m so excited to join the Not To Scale team, having been a big fan of their work for many years since early in my animation career. It’s a dream come true many years later to count myself on their roster of directors.” - Peter Baynton
