Paperman is a black and white romantic comedy short directed by John Kahrs with Walt Disney Animation Studios. Using both CG and hand-drawn animation techniques, the film tells the story of a young man working in New York whose life changes after a chance encounter with a beautiful girl on the train. With a funny, poignant storyline and an innovative look and style, the film won several awards including the Best Animated Short Subject at the Annie Awards and the Academy Award for Animated Short Film – the first time Disney had won at the Awards since 1970.
