Ubik (Stephen Dalton and Nick Losse) have worked on a multitude of projects with a plethora of international agencies including Ogilvy, Grey London, Wieden + Kennedy and BBH London, with brands such as The Observer and MTV.
In 2007, Ubik beat stiff competition to win perhaps the most prestigious award in commercial animation, the coveted British Television Advertising Craft Award for Best Animation in a commercial. This was for their short film '3650' part of MTV Switch campaign to highlight awareness to the accelerating effects of global warming.
In 2009 Ubik created a beautiful film entitled 'Voxel' after being invited to participate in the F5 Festival in New York by Motionographer. F5's favourite studios and directors from around the globe created short films around the themes of rebirth, rejuvenation and re growth. Unfettered by clients' demands, each team created a unique and expressive short that embodied the spirit of the F5 festival, creativity for creativity's sake.
The film, which premiered at infamous venue The Roseland Ballroom, in front of 1,500/2000 die hard film fans was perfectly matched by a stunningly apt track underscored by Domino Records Jon Hopkins and went on to be shown as part of the London Short Film Festival, The Melbourne Film Festival, the Red Stick Animation Festival, Tweak and OneDotZero Festival.
