Matt Smithson is the man in Man vs Magnet and is one seriously talented chap. Everything that passes through Matts grasp comes out golden. From humorous craftily cut animations to pointedly but uplifting films such at The Girls Effect, Matt is a true oddball of brilliance, diversifying his work by mixing his fine art background into the digital age.

Upon receiving his masters degree in Motion Graphics/ Broadcast Design at the Savannah College of Art & Design, Matt packed up and moved to the big city of New York City in June 2006. Having received numerous awards for his work in animation, Matt has exhibited in various collective shows for both painting, printmaking and motion graphics. He now resides, sleeps, works and surfs in Charleston.

Matt draws inspiration from ambiguous environments, found objects, and the notion that the human mind is driven by sleep and circumstance.
